FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Where do all the lists come from?
The lists originate from various other websites on the net that our spiders crawl and find. We simply aggregate the lists that the bots discover or those that are submitted to the site. On occasion we will create lists of our own, but we like to leave the list-making to the experts.
Why don’t you publish the entire lists on the main site?
We prefer to tease our visitors with samples of the lists in hope of promoting both list and the parent site. We would never want to take the credit for a great list, but we would like to take credit for words like listgasm, listgasmic, and listgasmtastic.
What is the purpose of the blog?
The purpose of the blog is to spotlight websites who are publishing informative and useful lists. We try to keep the blog content light and humorous.
What do “rating”, “popularity”, and “peaked at” mean?
These list stats all relate to worthiness and are calculated using the keeper and loser tags entered for each list. Rating is a score ranging from -10 to 10 that reflects the weighted average between the keeper and loser votes. Popularity ranges from 0 to 100 and is based on the rating and time. This stat tends to be smaller immediately after submission, rises during the day or so after submission, and then diminishes. The “peaked at” refers to the highest popularity reached by a list.
How can I submit feedback?
We are currently in an open beta for the site and welcome any and all feedback. If you encounter bugs with the site then feel free to log them here and if there are additional features you would like to see added to the site then you can log them here. We also appreciate any email feedback that is directly to support@listgasm.com.
Where can I get a t-shirt with that awesome logo on it?
Don’t worry Listgasm propaganda is coming soon! In the very near future we will unload t-shirts, mugs, parachutes, and urinal cakes!
